- Third installment in the franchise.
- Retired British general Brunswick reminisces about the days when he was a colonel in charge of a British Army battalion fighting against native rebels in colonial India during the late 1800s.
- A highly-skilled, adventurous team of journeyman linemen (Storm Soldiers) suddenly faces tragedy and is nearly torn apart by forces well beyond anything they thought they would ever face.
- These three scenes are to be used in connection with two war views to make a complete story in one film for projection. The first scene shows the young American officer parting with his sweetheart and starting for the Philippines. The second shows the regiment leaving its post to embark in the transport. Then comes a fight in the brush, then the wounding of the young officer; his capture and rescue by a Filipino girl and finally his meeting with his sweetheart and her father in the Filipino hut where he has been nursed back to life.
- A documentary which takes a revealing look at families left behind after coping with the loss of their loved ones in the shadow of the Army's claim that their deaths were suicides.
- Three laddies ask and obtain a leave of absence for a day to visit their aged mother. On their way to the old home, they call on three Highland lassies. It is a warm day, the laddies resume their journey, find the heat unusually oppressive and decide to take a swim to cool and refresh themselves. While enjoying their baths and frolicsome sport, the three girls strolling along the bank of the river are seen by the three laddies, who hide from their notice. The lassies suddenly come upon the clothing of their beaus, call their names aloud, and receiving no reply, decide that the boys have been drowned. Gathering up the discarded clothing of the boys, they make haste to report the accident. The laddies hasten to the shore to dress themselves and discover that their clothes have been stolen. Finally each one gathers up a bunch of brush. They reach their mother's home, who is almost frightened to death. Having no male attire in the house, she has to furnish them with some of her own dresses and hats in order to make the boys presentable. The three girls have by this time reached the barracks and reported to the officers of the laddies' regiment, showing their clothes as evidence of their statement. The three Highlanders put in an appearance under guard, being forced to report for duty, regardless of their funny "make-ups." They are court-martialed for losing their uniforms. In the guard house the boys blame each other for their predicament and one after the other starts to cry; gloom and despair written upon their countenances, which soon change to broad smiles when the guard hands each one of them a "Flora de Perfecto," which they light and complacently smoke with relish.
- Three soldiers are corralled into a trench awaiting certain death. Dealing with anxiety, raw presence of the near death, and lack of water and food; their thoughts succumb to another reality where their weapons are transformed into musical instruments and write the Jazz symphony.
- Ned, Frank and Bill are friends. There is a call for volunteers for the Civil War. Frank and Bill enlist, but Ned delays, as he is the only support of a sick mother, who has just had a relapse. This is unknown to the villagers and they believe Ned to be a coward. At last the mother improves sufficiently for Ned to enlist. They start for the front, and Dora, the girl that both Ned and Frank love, promises to wed the one who returns with the highest rank. At their first battle, Frank deserts in action, while Ned proves himself a hero by saving the flag and his captain's life, hut just as he had gotten the unconscious captain to safety, he faints. Frank sees him from the shelter of a tree and creeps out. He drags Ned back behind the tree and himself picks up the flag and his captain and goes to camp, where he is received as a hero by officers and men alike and promised to be mentioned for promotion, which he later receives. As he turns to go, Bill, who had been hiding behind another tree, confronts him, telling Frank that he had seen all. Bill promises to remain silent if Frank will use his influence for him. This he does and the three boys return home after the war, Frank and Bill with commissions, but Ned still in the ranks. True to her promise, Dora marries Frank and moves to a nearby town, where, after a year's time she has become thoroughly disillusioned; her fortune nearly all spent and forced to stand both neglect and abuse. She overhears a quarrel between Bill and Frank on account of the former demanding more money and learns that it was Ned who was the real hero. She leaves, to go to a friend in her home town, but Frank overtakes her and drives her to a sanitarium, telling the doctor in charge of the hospital and sanitarium that the death of her father has unbalanced her mind. He then tells Bill that he will not only outfit him for a mining trip, but also accompany him. They set out, but their first night in the desert Frank gets up stealthily, takes the water and supplies and is just riding away to leave Bill to die, when Bill awakens and fires at him. Frank hurries to the hospital, while Ned and his mother, who have sold their cottage and started across the desert to make a new home, hear Bill's cries, go to him and take him to the hospital. Bill and Frank die, after Bill has confessed and Ned and Dora are left to pick up the tangled threads of their romance.
